Fernando Valley Youth Organization
SFVYO
The San Fernando Valley Youth Organization (SFVYO) is an activist organization
working to build the leadership capacity of young people. It our firm
belief that the only way to bring about true change is to provide our
young people with the tools they need to make it happen. By encouraging
social activism among San Fernando Valley youth, the youth organization
develops strategies designed to reduce and prevent the abuse of alcohol,
tobacco and other drugs (ATOD).
The Youth Organization is a volunteer group of youth, from throughout
the San Fernando Valley, who committed to making a difference. One of
SFVYO’S most notable annual activities is the Youth Summit. The
Youth Summit is a day-long conference that is designed by youth for youth
and addresses issues facing young people. The summit is a day-long event
held at California State University Northridge, where youth learn new
skills and participate in educational workshops facilitated by their peers.

The only requirements for joining the Youth Organization are:
• The desire to serve your community
• Commitment to being trained
• Commitment to be alcohol & drug free
The San Fernando Valley Youth Organization meets every Monday night from
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. @ 1131 Celis Street, San Fernando, CA 91340.
